Instruction and Internship

“Torontoadaptation” is operating in partnership with Canadian language schools, colleges, and universities to provide instruction and internships in those establishments. In Canada, internships are always provided and combined with language or vocational academic instruction at public or private educational establishments. It is crucially important that Canada’s Migration Service views internships as Work Programs and in order to complete the internship or gain work experience obtaining a Work Permit is required in most instances. For such programs as UNDERSTANDING INTERNATIONAL MARKETPLACE, INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT and HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT, at least a Study Permit is required.

UIM and IBM programs enable holders of international degrees and diplomas in a particular discipline to promptly get Canadian education and work experience in the field of International Business Management. HOSPITALITY & TOURISM MANAGEMENT is the program allowing students to acquire work experience in the field of Hospitality and Tourism Management as well as to prepare for a career in Hospitality and Tourism. The programs are held many times a year which allows flexibility in selecting the starting date.

Minimal qualification and eligibility for a successful professional internship include three key factors:

  • Education and English language proficiency
It is obligatory to be highly proficient in English to succeed in academic instruction and to express professional goals and career aspirations during the interview. Standardized language tests are not required.
  • Computer skills
Knowledge and experience in the Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel) and Outlook applications. In case the applicant has no experience with the Outlook, we recommend learning how to use that program.
  • Flexibility and respect for other cultures
Ability to adapt to a foreign workforce and social life, respect for cultural differences. It’s important to realize that successful internship depends directly on the ability to communicate with people of various backgrounds as well as with the faculty and other students who have their own cultural sets.

All questions you may come up with, such as suggested program options, enrollment procedures, start-up date selection, fees, interview, visas for the programs and a lot more, can be clarified by a “Torontoadaptation” representative. You can call us or e-mail us at our address.
